About / The person doing the work

Billy Granger, sports therapist.

I came to this work through sport rather than through a textbook, and it shows in how I treat people.

The story

Why GRX exists.

A five-a-side football team in matching black and gold kit, standing in front of the goal after a match Sport is where this started

I have been on the table. That is why I know which questions you actually want answered.

I play sport. Football, the gym, and every injury that comes with both. I have done the waiting, the guessing and the coming back too early, and I got tired of watching people around me do the same thing.

So I trained in sports therapy and built GRX around the parts that were missing. Someone who explains what is going on. Someone who gives you a plan instead of a vague instruction to rest. Someone who turns up.

I work out of two places, Worthing and Winchester. Both run the same setup and the same standard, so you take whichever is easier to get to and we work the times around your training.

The people I work with are not all professional athletes. Most are not. They are Saturday and Sunday league players, five-a-side regulars, runners, lifters, and people whose desk job has quietly wrecked their shoulders. The approach is the same either way.

How I work

Three things GRX runs on.

They are not slogans. They are the reason I structure sessions the way I do.

Consistency

One session buys relief. A run of them changes the tissue, the movement and the habit. The loyalty rewards exist because turning up repeatedly is what works.

Recovery

Recovery is training, not the gap between it. Sleep, load and soft tissue work all get treated as part of the plan, not an afterthought.

Results

You should be able to tell whether it is working. Every plan comes with something measurable, whether that is range, load or how the thing feels on a Monday.

Training & practice

Trained for it. Still learning.

The qualifications matter, but so does keeping them current. Here is what sits behind the work.

Sports therapy qualified

Trained in movement assessment, soft tissue therapy and rehabilitation programming for people who train.

Injury rehab focus

My main interest is return-to-play rehab for team sport and gym-based athletes, from first assessment through to full load.

Nutrition coaching

Personalised nutrition planning built around training demand rather than generic calorie targets.

Kept current

The research moves and the method moves with it. What you get in a session is current, not whatever was on the syllabus.

Where I work

Two bases. One standard.

I run GRX out of Worthing and Winchester. Same setup, same session, same price in both.

Worthing, West Sussex

The main base, and where most sessions run. It is usually the easier of the two to get a slot at short notice.

Winchester, Hampshire

Regular sessions run in Winchester. Get in touch to find out which days I am there next.

Both are closed to new bookings at the moment. Follow along and I will post as soon as that changes.
